Suggestion for Antivirus Software

Yeah so pretty much just as the title says. I currently have a no name little league program that I'm not too confident in. Any suggestions?

I use Avast, although it may not be the best, it hasn't let me down yet, plus you can add a password to it so nothing can disable it without the password.

I started using this after AVG was turned off by a virus the was attached to something I downloaded. Completely borked my system.

Anti-Virus software is like a call girl. You can get the regular stuff that everybody uses and isn't as effective as they used to be (sort of the over the hill corner-trash) like McAfee or Norton. If I'm going to pay for it, I'm going to pay for high-class stuff like NOD32 or Kaspersky. But, I find nothing wrong with the cute girl that's free, I use Microsoft Security Essentials. Avast and AVG have pretty big followings as well. I just know I don't get any false-positives (STD scares) from MSE.

Or you can be like Janke and only use two at once. The man is a stallion.

Chalk up another vote for Avast & AVG.

Free, and get the job done and do so without hogging all your resources and slowing your comp to a god awful crawl.

Although - I run without anti-virus protection at all. I usually scan once every few years with a few anti-virus and anti-malware (Malware Bytes) programs just to make sure. In 15 years, I've had 2 virus' that required a reformat, other than that - zip. I'm dumb to run without AV these days - but meh. Worst that can happen is a reformat :-P

I use AVG free , although i stop it running when i'm playing games and turn it back on after.

At the moment, AVG has gotten kinda shitty. I had a malicious virus on my laptop once, one of those fake AV programs, and Malware Bytes anti-Malware (MBAM) kicked its ass. MBAM and Spybot Search and Destroy are an awesome combination.

Yep. Thats pretty much all you need. I have Microsoft Security Essentials and MBAM

Microsoft has a FREE anti-virus program called, Microsoft Security Essentials. I have been using it for about a year now and it has worked better than AVG for me.
