Ping and lag

IS there a way to decrease my ping and internet lag? My campus internet kinda sucks, And i cant change it. I usually get a ping form 180-<600 which makes the game unplayable when it gets above 200.

Download the config that Dillon posted in the Medical Supply Office.

It's an fps booster that should help out a lot.

Some things may need adjusting, but talk to anyone in the med supply office and they should be able to help you out.

The config will help with a few things. However, if you have hardware issues at your school, you've got a tough nut to crack in terms of looking for a solution.

When you are experiencing lag, I'd run a traceroute and see if its within your school's network.

The other option is that it could be you have background processess that are using the internet. Torrents, AV that are updating... stuff like that.

You may also have a NIC that is going out on you.

@ Parker. I already have the config file, I usually get 150+ fps. I meant Internet lag, where i'm standing in one place, then i freeze then i'm in a different place.

@ Dillion, i close all internet using programs. and still in the 180+. Supposedly the school is working on the problem. Hopefully they fix it soon. I've been wanting to play DoDs for a while now.
