Browser Problems and OS.

Question

Posted

I used to have Windows XP. Had all the packs, everything. I loved it more than Vista and Win 7. Well I got that extremely gay Virus/Malware where it says "Buy this to protect your computer!" And wont open anything etc. I brought it in a few months ago to install Win 7 Home Premium and to wipe it. A month later I was experiencing Browser Problems. Thought nothing of it. Its still going on. If Im using FireFox, it will randomly freeze up and not respond, as well as IE and Google Chrome, basicly all my browsers. I have never had this problem on XP before and its really bugging the living shit out of me.

Also, while playing games I can only ALT TAB ONCE.Otherwise, I have to completely exit the entire game just to get to my desktop. Again, I have never had this problem with XP. As well as my Laptop which has Vista, and my gaming laptop which has Win 7 as well it does this. I am basicly blaming Win 7 for all this.

I really want this fixed, if anyone can direct me to not blame Windows 7 it would be amazing. Otherwise, Im going back to XP and not give a shit about the loopholes/virus threat more. The Browser/ALT TAB is killing me. I have to restart my computer just to use a browser. Please Help :(

Really, its all you need. Get the free version and you'll be fine.

Yeah but I don't think that is going to help with the win 7 problems. I can't alt + tab either with win 7. For me getting to the desktop is not a problem but getting back into game is a 50-50 on whether or not it is going to freeze. This just means that I try not to alt + tab in game anymore and stick to using the in-game browser. I have a beast system too so I don't think it is a resource issue and I was always able to do it with XP.

It depends. First rule of troubleshooting is making sure you have a clean computer.

There are some pretty nasty malware out there that disable the alt key so you can't ctrl-alt-del to shut down processes.

As for a Windows 7/alt-tab in Source issue, this was a pretty big issue until an update in November. Its odd that it is coming back. All updates have been made for Win7, right?

Im pretty sure its Win7 because Ive never had any of these retarded problems with XP. I have everything updated, and I always Full Scan my comp before I shut it off. IE,FireFox,Google Chrome still have the ALT/TAB problem, as well as some other games. Not just source. Its getting rather annoying, I already threatened my laptop saying Id toss it out the window.
