Ok the word of our unit is Respect. What does it mean to you?

Personally for me it means that you show commitment to the things you have said you would do and to the people you care for. To Honor those commitments. and go about it with unrelenting courage. this is my own personal definition of what our unit word Respect meansto me.

Respect is two different concepts that mesh together in harmony.

The first is respect for yourself. Your own faults, ignorance, and folly. Acknowledge those, but do not let it defeat you. Then you respect your own talent, knowledge, and wisdom. Use those, but do not let it inflate you. The respect in self can be broken down into mental and physical aspects. Both of which can be further elaborated upon by an individual in what he/she would see himself/herself to have and what to gain though hard work and perseverance.

The second is respect for your fellow man. To treat all others equally as best you can. To be able to respect his/her own talents and faults, knowledge and ignorance, wisdom and folly. Give proper respect to your elders, peers, and subordinates. For the elders had come before you, and know the path, providing the experience; your peers travel with you, and provide your strength; and the subordinates follow you, who you will lead eventually down the path.

That isn't to say respect is to be thrown lightly. Respect to many must be earned, and the only way to earn that is to be respectful yourself. Turn the other cheek, and seek forgiveness. There are those who do not warrant any respect at all. But it is still customary to give them something, to show that they can browbeat us, with our morals and humility, and respect for their fellow man. For whatever they say, they are not in any league with us.

Now, I'm running in circles vaguely philosophical, but I return again to the opening. Respect for yourself, and for your fellow man. To put it in context with this lovely Unit. I shall have respect to those above me, those with me, and those below me. I shall have respect to those not part of the unit, and still show grace and humility to those who honestly do not need our respect. Abiding by the rules and procedures of the unit is a sign of respect, as much as pressing your Salute bind in game at the appropriate times. The word of the unit, Respect. Such a simple word, yet it speaks volumes. A person who has it, and gives it, makes them whole, one can say.

That said, I would like to point out I'm lying in bed about to fall asleep, and this topic caught my eye and I had to respond. I have fun with y'all, and I love y'all (some more than others I'm afraid to say), and even with those who in our pub do not give respect to us, I will not go into a giant cursing rampage in game. Unless you're like...I dunno...killing and dominating me every single friggin time. D< Even then, I just scream like a little girl (apparently).

...why didn't I give this answer at BCTs...oh wait, I didn't take two pills of ibuprofen before going to bed nor did I wax philosophical.

In all seriousness, respect is as simple as treating others as you'd like to be treated.

I agree with no arms here. In my life I have earned and lost respect from and for others based on my own and there actions. I tend to treat people the way I want to be treated and if they don't well they don't have respect. I also believe that respect is earned and not given. If you want respect go get it.

Respect to me means to act to others how you wanted to be acted to. It means to never hate those of your own or exclude them from anything. That's respect to me.

Or it could mean resisting to masturbating until my skin burns off from Remedy's pictures.

Let's back off on this line of conversation Viktor. We've had issues with this sort of thing in the past and I'd rather nip it in the bud now.

Respect is as simple as being a decent, civilized human being. It is summed up by "treat others as you would want to be treated", but all it comes down to is being a decent, well mannered human being. That's all you have to do for the most part if you want to earn 90% of the populations respect. Note, not always is this true, but for the most part, and in the scenario presented here, it is.

Yes   Which game title are you applying for? Hell Let Loose   If you've selected Hell Let Loose, do you understand that this game is currently not cross platform capable and only PC players currently may apply? ( Steam or PC Game Pass) Yes   Why do you wish to join the 1st Marine Raiders? I've played BFV and milsimed in it, and it was a lot more fun when I milsimed. and I enjoy playing HLL, so I think it is going to be more fun when I join.   Did any of our current members play a part in you enlisting? If so, who? If none, how did you learn about us: I found you guys from a website called disboard when looking for HLL milsim groups to join.   This unit offers more than just a place to play games with each other, do you have any online skills you think would be useful? no   Do you have any Leadership experience that you think will be helpful? I'm not sure if it will be helpfull, but I used to be in BFV milsim groups and in my last one I got to [E-7] out of [E-1] to [O-8], so I was a NCO and I helped the officers with whatever they needed doing, weather it was assisting with training, settling disputes or helping them decide what was appropriate disciplinary action. And when we were in combat I was usually assigned to lead my own squad.   Have you ever been in a realism unit before, and if so, which unit was it? yes. I was in quite a few BFV milsim groups, although I was only in one at any given time. unfortunately, I have left the discord servers and I do not remember the names of them. if you would like, I could probably give a reference to someone who was an officer in most of the groups I was in.   By posting this Enlistment form, I acknowledge the instructions completely, declare that I am 16 years old or older, and agree that I have and will follow server and unit rules maturely and respectfully or face immediate rejection.
